Hi! My name’s Stephanie and I’m glad you stopped by this blog of mine. I hope you find some inspiration for travel, food and drinks, or possibly an interesting life lesson. Really, I want you to find something that speaks to you.
Here’s the obligatory background info, or the 411, on me. I’m married (for over 15 years) and have three kids (one girl and two boys) ranging in age from 13 to 6. We call the middle of the country (Wichita, Kansas) home. I currently work as an attorney. And I’m the co-owner of an ice cream/coffee shop called Flavors Coffee and Ice Cream Bar. Our shop is found in College Hill in Wichita, Kansas and is a cute and cozy place that serves a variety of products with great flavors that we hope puts a smile on your face when you come to visit.
This blog is primarily about food and travel—two things I really, really enjoy! From the time I was a little girl, I have enjoyed traveling and finding new delicious food on those travels. The love of travel and food made it into my previous “nine lives” because I used to be a flight attendant (for four years) and owned a personal chef business and catering business (for three years) before going to law school. It even carried into my wedding as my husband and I had a destination wedding in New Orleans, a place known for fabulous food!
This blog will follow my adventures (both local and non-local). I’ll share pointers and tips about the places I go so that you have the info to do it yourself and be in the know before going. You’ll find this information in the Travel/Adventures section. The blog also features recipes related to my adventures and life experiences. In the Food/Drinks section, you’ll find some fun recipes that you can try out in the comfort of your own home. There is also a local section for my Wichita peeps. On the Wichita Wednesday page, I’ll share some of my favorite restaurants or other fun places right here in Wichita. I think shopping local is the best way to go! I also love to travel to new places and come home to re-create (as best I can or in a new way) something delicious we ate from a local joint on one of our trips!
You may wonder why the name of this blog is the authentic abundant life. Well….long story short. I think the only way to live a life of abundance-life to the full is by being authentically you. Only through your authenticity will you find abundance in your life. Soo…some of the things that allow me to be authentic and experience abundance is food, drink, travel, new experiences, and doing these things with my family and friends. It’s what makes my heart peaceful, content, and happy! And that’s what I’ll be sharing here. But with authenticity comes challenges, and I’ll share those challenges and lessons in the This & That section. Authenticity requires keeping it real.
One thing to remember and to take to heart -MY journey to authenticity and abundance is not YOUR journey. Authenticity, by its own definition, is what is true to you. Ultimately, I hope that this blog gives you some food for thought (if only for the recipes and travel spots) for creating your own authentic and abundant life. For me, it’s living it one adventure and flavor at a time! Live your adventure!
