It’s been a minute since I’ve done a Wichita Wednesday post. I’ve still been going to all the local spots here in Wichita – I just haven’t done a good job posting about them! I’ll do better!
Today’s place is Doo-Dah Diner, a fun breakfast joint in downtown Wichita. Their website says that they serve “gourmet comfort food cooked from scratch.” And I can tell you that it’s really, really delish.
They serve breakfast, lunch, and of course, brunch. But I’ve only ever had breakfast while there. I tend to go at brunch time although I think I would pick the same entree at lunch too. Because I have the same thing every time I go. I really need to branch out, but what I get is soo good that I can’t seem to try other things. My all-time favorite breakfast item is eggs benedict. And Doo-Dah Diner has crab cakes eggs benedict. I rank crab cakes eggs benedict as my most favorite breakfast ever. I’ve only had crab cakes benedict in three places: Hawaii, Estes Park, Colorado, and Doo-Dah Diner. And Doo-Dah Diner’s are fabulous.
Their menu describes it perfectly: fresh style lump crab cakes on top of crispy hash browns, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, grilled asparagus, and jalapeƱo bacon crumbles. What’s not to love about that?! Makes you want to run out and get you some right now, doesn’t it?
They also offer up some other fun and unique items such as banana bread French toast, corned beef hash, and a smothered breakfast burrito. Of course, they have all the traditional breakfast items as well.
And, as an added bonus, they serve you monkey bread bites as an “appetizer.” So while you’re waiting for your entree, you get to munch on a little bowl of cinnamony-brown sugar goodies. Dessert before breakfast doesn’t get any better!
They are located in downtown Wichita, right off of Kellogg on Market Street. You should head there right away. But don’t go on Mondays or after 2 pm, they’re closed. Didn’t want you to be disappointed! You can check out their website at: https://www.doodahdiner.com
