Here’s another fun recipe for anytime you want a red, white, and blue dessert. You could even make them for Bastille Day in France (which is coming up, by the way). Same colors.
We made two different versions this Fourth of July holiday. We used white chocolate pudding and vanilla pudding for the white layer. Obviously, the white chocolate version was more white.
The vanilla pudding was more yellow.
But, I’ll be honest, the vanilla pudding was better. I’m not the biggest fan of white chocolate though so that was no surprise. I don’t know why I don’t like white chocolate that much. I love all things chocolate. But not white chocolate. White chocolate = took sweet.
A lot of the recipes I found online use plain gelatin mixed with something (like sweetened condensed milk) for the white layer. I like the pudding layer better because it adds a different texture. You do have to be careful pouring your last layer of jello on the pudding, though. If you pour it too fast, the jello will sink under the pudding, and you won’t have a layered dessert. It will still taste good but it won’t look as great. So, be sure to slowly pour your last layer.
Obviously, you can make these jello pops to your liking. We used strawberry and berry blue jello. And vanilla and white chocolate pudding. You could use a different red jello. You could use all vanilla pudding. You could use all white chocolate pudding. You don’t even have to make them red, white, and blue if you want to make them for a different occasion. Whatever floats your boat.
It’s also a bit time consuming because you have to let two different jellos set, so make sure you give yourself enough time. I started mine at 10 in the morning, and they were done by 5. Enjoy!
